Lead Generation Guidelines
Details to be agreed prior to campaign start
- What is the exact set of criteria for an acceptable qualified lead? *
- Are there any custom questions that a user must answer prior to viewing collateral, aside from The Register's standard set?*
Required Collateral
- At least one piece of collateral (preferably several pieces) in either Adobe PDF (for written papers), FLA (for video), or MP3 (for audio) or a URL linking to a non-registration, non-password protected web page containing the same.
- Title, sub-title, short synopsis (single paragraph), and full synopsis (2-3 paragraphs) copy for each piece of collateral supplied
Additional Collateral
- Any available display ads which The Register may find useful for promoting your collateral.
- Company logos/images etc, for inclusion in any ads which The Register may create for promoting your collateral.
- The Register may choose to commission an independent piece of collateral on the appropriate subject area for the additional recruitment of leads, unless otherwise agreed.
Process
- All collateral should be sent to ads@theregister.com a minimum of two business days prior to the campaign start date.
- Leads will be de-duped, cleaned and sent to the client on a weekly basis.
Tips for sucessful Lead Gen
- In general, the more collateral supplied the better.
- The material should not be overtly salesy. Independent reports (eg. analyst reports), case studies and vendor neutral materials generally perform much better than marketing collateral.
- The title, sub-title and synopsees should similarly convey the educational / general interest benefit, rather than push product.
